Scores of runners turned out to take part in a special tribute to a football-loving teenager in Sheringham who died just weeks after being diagnosed with a rare cancer.
Arsenal supporter David Acott, from Bodham, near Holt, was just 17 when he lost his battle with Wilson's Disease in March last year - three years after surviving a life-saving liver transplant.
He was remembered with a minute's applause at Sheringham parkrun on Saturday when runners wore football tops to show their support and raise money for Ronald McDonald House Charities (which provides a free 'home away from home' accommodation for families with children in hospital.
David, who also shared his family's affection for Arsenal, ran the three mile course as he fought back to fitness following his transplant and went on to take part in the 2013 Pinewood Triathlon in Sheringham and won three medals in the transplant games in Bolton, Greater Manchester.
A total of 223 runners took part in the parkrun at the weekend and raised a total of £1400 for the charity - with £800 being donated on the day. And it is hoped it will continue as an annual event.
David's mum Janet, who sported her son's old Arsenal top, said: 'It's overwhelming and I feel honoured that people have gone to the effort to be here today.'
