Outdoor activities ranging from pond dipping and bug hunting, to crafts and a nature quiz trail will be on offer at Sheringham Park on Tuesday, July 23, as part of a family nature day supporting a youngster who needs a life-changing operation.
The event, which will also include folk singing and drumming workshops and tales around the campfire with storyteller John Row, is raising cash towards a £60,000 appeal to pay for surgery and post-operative physiotherapy needed by nine-year-old Ben Taylor, who has cerebral palsy.
The appeal, which was launched a few weeks ago by Ben's parents, Belinda and Laurence, has already topped the £40,000-mark, with friends and supporters organising a string of events ranging from a jumble sale, to a supermarket bag pack.
Mr Taylor has also scaled Ben Nevis in honour of his son, while Ben's music teacher, Jon Cooper, cycled 200 miles around the Norfolk coast.
Go Wild for Ben runs from 3.30pm-7.30pm at the Bower, Sheringham Park on Tuesday. Tickets, priced £5 per child (adults free), will be available on the day (cash only). The Bower is a dog-free area, free parking will be available and refreshments and cakes will be on sale.
