A trio of new pedestrian crossings are planned for Sheringham town centre in a continuing bid to make it more pedestrian-friendly.
Raised platforms are earmarked at three locations near the town clock - in the third phase of regeneration street improvements, but officials are looking at ways to find the full £90,000 cost.
The crossings would go across Station Road and Church Street near the Little Theatre, as well as across the High Street near Barclays Bank.
Platforms will be raised 2in and coloured differently to the normal road to act as traffic calming as well as steering pedestrians to cross at specific places.
Deputy mayor Mac McGinn said there would be loading bans at those points, and a new loading bay to compensate outside the Gazelle fashion shop. It would add to the previous phases which saw new pavements and crossings further along Station Road, and there were hopes of continuing the process down Church Street and High Street later.
But it was all down to finding the funding, which was currently under negotiation between councils, traders and Sheringham Plus.

Mr Crowe said the latest crossings were originally planned for a start in January or February next year, but it could be “later rather than sooner” due to funding constraints. The main regeneration work of Sheringham Plus was due to finish in June this year, having tackled projects ranging from the high profile revamp of the Oddfellows Hall, to producing leaflets for walks, but it was aimed to have another organisation in place to carry on the good work.
