Budding chefs at Sheringham High School created a range of summer-themed dishes, in a competition to design a healthy dessert using locally sourced, seasonal ingredients.
The Year 10 GCSE food preparation and nutrition students, whose dishes also had to be suitable for people with diabetes, had a chance to get expert tips from Michael Carr, who is head chef at the Kings Head, Letheringsett, with Dawn Fulcher, of Dawn Fresh greengrocers, Sheringham, providing strawberries and donating cash prizes.
First place went to Ayisha Yarbo, who served up a strawberry tarte, with Elisha Kerr taking second prize with her strawberry mille feuille and Ciara Gowers bagging third for her strawberry muffin afternoon tea.
Food and nutrition teacher Angela Pleasants said the competition was part of a 'Good Mood, Good Food' campaign being run at the school.
She added: "We are trying to raise awareness of the importance of making healthy choices in order to improve mental and physical health and wellbeing."
