North Norfolk's most popular annual flower festival kicks off at St Andrew's Methodist Church, Sheringham, today.The festival, which runs until Sunday, regularly attracts around 3,000 people from all over the country, raising more than �10,000 for church funds and local good causes.

North Norfolk's most popular annual flower festival kicks off at St Andrew's Methodist Church, Sheringham, today.

The festival, which runs until Sunday, regularly attracts around 3,000 people from all over the country, raising more than �10,000 for church funds and local good causes.

More than 100 people are involved in staging the event, including church secretary and lifelong St Andrew's member Rosa West, who is leading a team of 50 arrangers from all over the area.

This year's theme is Pearls of Wisdom and floral displays will be based on adages ranging from "all that glitters is not gold" to "you can't judge a book by its cover".

The festival, at St Andrew's Methodist Church, Cromer Road, Sheringham, is open from 10am-7pm today and tomorrow, from 10am-6pm on Saturday and from midday-6pm on Sunday.

Refreshments including morning coffee, light lunches, snacks and cream teas will be available daily until 5pm, with church members also running craft, plant and bric-a-brac stalls, and hosting a daily quiz.
