What was the army doing at Blickling Hall?
Members of the 1st The Queen’s Dragoon Guards (QDG), based near Swanton Morley, have been visiting iconic sites in the area, ahead of their birthday celebrations.
The dragoons are part of the Royal Armoured Corps (RAC), which was formed on April 4, 1939.
A public military event will be held at the Tank Museum in Bovington, Dorset, on Thursday, April 4, and a small group representing the dragoons will be present.
Ahead of the event, dragoons visited five iconic sites in the county, included Blickling Hall.
Photographer Kevin Murphy recorded the event, and said: “I just saw two guys get out. What was unusual was that they were in desert camouflage.”
He posted on social media: “Blickling Hall. Army descended upon it. In desert camouflage gear and trucks.”
Army press officer Alison Cobb said: “They were visiting five iconic places in Norfolk. One other place was Norwich City FC.”
