Plans lodged with North Norfolk District Council would see the demolition of existing buildings and the erection of retirement living housing for the elderly, including 30 retirement living apartments, 12 retirement bungalows, car parking, and landscaping.

The site is occupied by a number of buildings that formed part of an abattoir business that closed down in 2008. Part of the site is also occupied by a bungalow.

A spokesman for the builder said that, as a result of comments on previous proposals, it had made several amendements to the scheme.

These include the roof profile being amended and further architectural detailing being added to the apartment building.

The design of the bungalows has also been changed in response to planning officer comments, and a zebra crossing has been added on Old Market Road.
