From concerts and art exhibitions, to parades and history projects, towns and villages across north Norfolk are preparing to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War with a host of events. Here is a round-up of Remembrance Day services and centenary events in the area.

Aylsham

A parade will form up on Sunday, November 11, at Cawston Road drill hall at 1.50pm, marching off for a service and wreath-laying ceremony at St Michael's Church at 2pm.

Beeston Regis

At Beeston Regis, the parish council has delivered a free commemorative booklet to all households.

This features the stories of the 22 men listed on the village war memorial, as well as those of a young Australian airmen and local teenager Charles Pegg, who lost their lives during the First World War and who are buried in All Saints churchyard.

Councillors are inviting parishioners and their families to join them at Beeston Hall School for afternoon tea on Sunday and just before 7pm, the village will join the thousands of communities across the UK taking part in a 'Battle's Over' project by lighting a beacon, playing the Last Post and ringing the school chapel bell.

Cromer

Cromer's newly-restored war memorial will be unveiled and rededicated on Saturday, November 10, at 1.30pm as part of a series of events organised by town councillors and local Royal British Legion members.

At 6am on Sunday, a piper will play Battle's O'er at the war memorial. A parade will muster at 2.30pm at the Meadow car park, marching off at 2.40pm for a 3pm service at the parish church.

This will be followed by refreshments and the sale of LED candles in Cromer Parish Church from 5.30pm-6.15pm. A torchlit procession will then form up at Runton Road car park at 6.50pm and following the playing of the Last Post at 7pm, a beacon will be lit by Cromer mayor David Pritchard and North Norfolk District Council vice chairman Brian Hannah.

Holt

On Sunday at 6am in Holt, retired priest Canon Peter Midwood will be playing the Northumbrian pipes in the porch of St Andrew's Church. Fr Howard Stoker will then lead a service at 9.30am, after which there will be a town service at the war memorial at 11am, followed by evensong at 6pm. The band of church bellringers will be sounding out the bells of St Andrew's at 7.05pm as part of the Ring For Peace national initiative.

North Walsham

There will be a short service and wreath-laying ceremony on Sunday, November 11, at 9.30am at the War Memorial Hospital, followed by a service with parade of banners at St Nicholas Church at 10.30am.

The vicar of North Walsham, Rev Canon Paul Cubitt, will then lead a 12.30pm service at the war graves in Bacton Road cemetery, with a parade marching off from North Walsham Memorial Park at 2pm for a service at St Nicholas Church at 3pm.

Sheringham

Sheringham Town Council has teamed up with local groups and organisations to organise a centenary project which includes talks, exhibitions and concerts.

There will be displays at St Peter's Church, the town hall, the library, Sheringham Museum and the town's Tesco store.

On Saturday at 4.30pm, there will be a parade of 'Tribute to the Fallen' figures on the North Norfolk Railway station platform, with other Saturday events including a screening of the First World War-themed film Journey's End at Sheringham Little Theatre and a remembrance concert with Sheringham and Cromer Choral Society at St Peter's Church at 7.30pm.

Sheringham RNLI will be staging a commemorative launch of the lifeboat at 10.30am on Saturday, with crew members casting a wreath into the sea at 11am. This will be followed by a short service taken by Major Janet Bishop of Sheringham Salvation Army.

A Remembrance Sunday service will take place at the town war memorial at 10.45am, followed by a service at St Peter's Church.

The day's events will conclude with a beacon lighting ceremony on the Leas at 7pm.

There is free entry to the Lest We Forget exhibition at Sheringham Museum, which is open from 10am-4pm on November 10 and 11.

Stalham

A parade will form up at 10.15am on Sunday at the old railway station car park, before setting off at 10.25am for a service at 10.45am at St Mary's Church. Following a wreath-laying ceremony, Stalham and District Royal British Legion will be hosting a buffet lunch at the Swan pub, in High Street. All are welcome.

Walcott

A display of more than 4,000 poppies will be on show as part of First World War centenary events being hosted by Walcott Church, which is holding a remembrance service and holy communion on Sunday at 10.30am.

Depicting the word 'peace', the display was created by a team of 45 people. It will be exhibited alongside an exhibition of work by youngsters at Bacton Primary School.

Upper Sheringham

There will be a service at All Saints Church at 11am on Sunday, followed by a dedication of a memorial plaque and a gathering in the village hall.

West Runton

Dozens of Beavers, Cubs and Scouts will parade through the village to Holy Trinity Church for a Remembrance Sunday service at 11am.
