Archant

Two north Norfolk drama groups are taking a bow after winning regional awards.

The comedy How the Other Half Loves won best play for the Cromer and Sheringham Operatic and Dramatic Society.

And there was a technical award for the Blakeney Players for their scenery and sets in both their panto Acropolis Now (a comedy of arrows) and the summer musical review A Change of Heart.

The accolades were handed out by the regional arm of the National Operatic and Dramatic Association at a ceremony in St Ives, Cambridgeshire.

Regional Noda representative Susan DuPont praised the winners saying just being nominated was an achievement.

Winning was a feather in the cap for the societies, particularly a smaller one such as Blakeney.

The awards were handed out by national president Bert Lumsden, who will be attending the opening night of CSODS’ centenary musical Oliver later this month.
