Man denies cutting down trees in conservation area

A man has pleaded not guilty to a charge of cutting down, uprooting or wilfully destroying 22 trees.

Reginald George Medler, of RG Medler Builders, based at Beechwood Avenue, Aylmerton, entered the plea at an appearance at Norwich Magistrates Court on Tuesday, November 26.

Medler is now due to return to the same court on February 5 next year to contest the charge.

The offence is alleged to have taken place on August 14 last year at Grange Gorman in Overstrand, and to have involved 22 trees.

Medler is a director at Westcrombe Properties, of The Builders Yard, Beechwood Avenue, Aylmerton, which faces the same charge.

The prosecution has been brought by North Norfolk District Council.
