Fifty stalls, eight top chefs, two great parties - Reepham is nearly ready.

The second Reepham Food Festival looks set to surpass the sell-out success of the first 2017 event.

Visitors will be able to buy local food and drink products from 50 stalls and concessions in the market square, with many new producers this year, including specialist providers of vegetarian, organic and gluten-free products.

Norfolk businesses will be well represented with the bar from Panther Brewery and stalls from Eves Hill and Crush Foods and Eastgate Larder.

The Dial House, Kings Arms, The Crown, Diane’s Pantry and V’s Café will all be joining in.

The WI, the Country Markets team and Reepham Scouts will all be making their own special contribution.

Charlie Hodson’s Norfolk Food Heroes will demonstrate cooking skills and recipe ideas on the Woodforde’s Cookery Stage.

Top Norfolk restaurateurs Roger Hickman and Andrew Jones – now also owner of the Dial House - will be joined by expert butchers, foragers and spice producers.

Reepham’s schools are taking part with fun science demonstrations at the primary school.

Young visitors can try their hands at bashing custard, seeing how food tastes differently when it’s cooked, learn how bubbles get into food and use chocolate to measure the speed of light in a microwave.

Scientists from Norwich Research Park will explain some of their latest thinking, and winners of the high school’s Junior MasterChef competition will be announced at the festival.

Producers and processors will be on hand to shown how we get finished products like beer, rapeseed oil, crisps and bread from crops grown in our fields.

The festival will open on Saturday, May 26 with a cocktails and canapés evening, with food from the Dial House and new cocktail ideas from St Giles Gin. The closing supper on Sunday, May 27, will be a buffet featuring products from festival stall-holders. Tickets for both events are available on-line at bit.ly/rff18ticket

The main part of the festival runs from 10am to 4pm on Sunday, May 27. Entry is free. The fFestival is organised by Reepham Rotary Club working with other local organisations. For more information, visit www.reephamfoodfestival.org.uk
