Victory Housing Trust have applied for permission to build 14 houses on land in School Close, Knapton.

Five years ago discussions were held with the village to build eight houses on the same land and the plans which were for flint-faced, well designed houses were welcomed by the village.

Since then Victory have held no further discussions with the village and have refused to attend parish meetings. Their latest plans are for brick boxes crammed onto the same site as the original eight. If I was an architect I would be embarrassed to even offer such a scheme.

What is even more galling is that this same trust has applied to complete some beautiful brick and flint properties at Cley.

Do I assume that in the eyes of Victory it does not matter what is built in Knapton?

Please, Mr John Archibald of Victory Housing, show you care for local people and not for the weekend, holiday mob who add nothing to the local industry but force the price of houses up.

Let's build some nice houses with gardens and make them affordable in Knapton not Cley.

I appeal to Victory Housing to be fair and look after the indigenous population first.

Alan Young,
