Regal celebrations are taking place across Norfolk today (Thursday) to mark the Queen's 90th birthday.

In Cromer, town crier Jason Bell will be congratulating the Queen with a public announcement outside the parish church at 11am and there will be a public chorus of Happy Birthday.

This will be followed by a torch lit procession from Cromer Parish Church to the Old Lookout on the east cliff at 7pm followed by the lighting of the beacon and firework display.

Beacons will also be lit in Sheringham, Holt and Mundesley at 7.30pm.

Prayers will be said on Shirehall Plain in Holt at 7pm before a beacon is lit. The ceremony in Sheringham will take place on the seafront, at the Leas.

And, in Mundesley, a party is being hosted at Coronation Hall following the lighting of a beacon on the cliffs behind the hall.

Meanwhile, residents in Stalham are being asked to get out their cameras and recreate an idea which proved a success in the Millennium.

Parish church chiefs want everyone to snap scenes from their lives in the town on the Queen's 90th birthday, April 21, and the results will be displayed at an exhibition marking her official birthday, from June 11-14.
