With the European Union Referendum vote just around the corner, many are unsure of which way to vote.

For some, lack of knowledge on the topic is preventing them from making a clear decision.

Grizelda Tyler, 64, from Aylsham, felt that she did not know enough and decided to contact the University of East Anglia (UEA) for help.

As a result, an event is taking place next week for people to come and listen to a presentation all about the topic.

Professor Husseun Kassim, head of the school of politics at the UEA and Professor Catherine Barnard, an expert in EU law from Cambridge will be leading the event.

Mrs Tyler, who has three daughters, said: 'I feel very strongly that I am ill equipped to vote in the EU referendum because of my lack of knowledge, I know what I voted on in 1975 but much has changed since then and this is a feeling that many of my friends and acquaintances share.

'I therefore I thought I had to do something, so I contacted UEA and spoke to the secretary in the Politics Department who forwarded my email to the members of the department. In this email I had said that I would like someone to come to Aylsham and give a non partisan, unbiased, un political presentation on the facts of the EU.'

The presentation will focus on trade agreements, what the EU does and how the institution is run, the single market compared with the trade agreement and the EU budget and the UK's contribution.

Mrs Tyler added: 'We have had a tremendous amount of interest, lots of people are talking about the EU and the event. Everyone is pleased it will be happening as we don't have the facts, it was important for me to give information.

'It's the most important decision we are going to make, I have also emailed schools to pass on the information to school children as it is going to affect the younger generation more.'

The free presentation will take place on Wednesday May 4 at 7pm at Aylsham Parish Church.
