A three-day old porpoise was stranded on the beach at Cromer in Friday afternoon.
The tiny pup was alive when it was spotted on the beach but died soon afterwards, despite the efforts of the coastguard and lifeboat who were called out to help.
The RNLI lifeboat retrieved the body of the porpoise, which was handed over to Hunstanton Sea Life Centre. It will be sent to the Natural History Museum in London to try to establish the cause of death.
