A 'sehr gut' time was had by all as Sheringham's continental twins spent a week in the town.
Anglo-German relations were given another boost when 52 people visited from Otterndorf in northern Germany.
While most of the visitors arrived by coach, eight more intrepid people cycled from otterndorf to Sheringham, and were greeted by town mayor Doug Smith when they reached Otterndorf Green at lunchtime on Wednesday July 3.
The visitors presented Sheringham with two apple trees, which they asked people to decorate with paper apple shapes, each including the names of the hosts and their guests.
In twinning tradition, the visitors were hosted by local families, 26 years after the connection was established.
There was a busy programme of activities during the stay, including:
? A walking tour of the town.
? A seal trip to Blakeney Point.
? A trip on a Mississippi paddle steamer from Horning, followed by a pub lunch at Coltishall.
? Bowling at Pinewood park, Bodham, followed by a walk through the park and golf course to Sheringham.
? A visit to Sandringham House and gardens.
? An evening hog roast.
? A free day, with activities including St Andrews Methodist Church Flower Festival, Lobster Potty Morris Festival, North Norfolk Railway, The Mo - Sheringham Museum.
? A farewell party at the community centre on the evening of Saturday July 6.
Evelyn Meakin from the Sheringham-Otterndorf Twinning Association said: 'We had a very busy and successful week.'
