Sophie and Polly Duniam, who are now 27, have been performing a music act as My Bad Sister for five years, including touring Europe.

And their distinctive live 'cabarave' show will be back on the road this summer visiting Portugal and festivals including Glastonbury.

But on Saturday the pair, who have been performing together since the age of three, are staging a preview gig ahead of their album launch on February 16.

Their music is a 'circussy and quirky - but always with a groove' said Sophie.

Tracks such as Gipsy Boy and Rolling North (Safe With Us) are based on real-life adventures, given a twist.

It was produced by Pete Gleadall the musical director of the Pet Shop Boys, after the twins danced on tour with the band for four years.

'He was keen to give us studio time and expertise for free because he likes what we do,' said Sophie, adding: 'We still get Christmas cards from the Pet Shop Boys.'

Writing the songs is a joint effort but with Sophie stronger on the melodies and Polly stronger on lyrics.

'We have been touring for a couple of years, but we realised we needed to do an album - so have been concentrating on that - and would like to do another one by this time next year,' added Sophie.

The album My Bad Sister Volume One will be showcased at a preview gig at the Fox and Firkin in Lewisham on January 17 a month ahead of the digital launch on iTunes.

But visitors to their mum Marlene's annual dance school show at Cromer pier on May 2-3 will also get a taste.

The sisters will be doing workshops during the February and Easter school holiday (weeks beginning February 16 and March 30) covering general dance from tap and street to musical theatre for youngsters from nine years old.

But they will also be slicing a bit of My Big Sister's 'cabarave' into the show.

Sophie and Polly, who are also well-known in the north Norfolk area for taking roles, as youngsters, in the Cromer pier summer show, and the children's TV series Home Farm Twins - said they enjoyed coming home away from the busy music scene.

'It is nice to come home and be normal for a week,' said Sophie.
