Little owls of all shapes and sizes are set to pop up in Holt shop windows, thanks to the artistic efforts of local primary school pupils.
Keen to help celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Holt Festival, which kicks off in July, north Norfolk-based arts organisation Falcon came up with the idea of running a series of owl-themed activities for children and arranged for artist Jessica Perry to run workshops at Holt Primary School.
Their owls – made from egg boxes, pebbles and milk cartons – will go on display at the Feathers Hotel in the town, before being put on show in shop windows during the festival.
Falcon founder Phil Barrett, who is chairman of the festival fringe committee, said the owls would form a trail, bringing the festival and the town together.
He added: “What we wanted was to get people involved and make the festival more inclusive, so we have planned a programme of free events for children.” www.holtfestival.org
