Nuisance neighbour fined for breaching noise abatement notice six times
A Sheringham nuisance neighbour breached a noise abatement notice six times.
Paul Still, of Barford Road, was found guilty in his absence at Norwich magistrates’ court on March 8 on six counts of breaching the notice, which was originally issued last December.
The notice had been served following loud and intrusive music from Mr Still’s flat which was directly below the complainant’s.
During the investigation, two warrants were executed for the seizure of equipment associated with amplified music, in December 2017 and January 2018, from Mr Still’s property.
Mr Still was fined £440, ordered to pay £1500 costs and £44 victim surcharge. The seized amplified music equipment will not be returned to Mr Still.
The prosecution was brought by North Norfolk District Council whose portfolio holder for the environment, Hilary Cox said: “Still’s behaviour was unacceptable and had a severe detrimental effect on his neighbour’s health and wellbeing.”
