The fun day at the town's Memorial Park saw 350 children take part in a 23-egg trail, as well as face painting, balloon modelling, and a special meet-and-greet with the Easter Bunny.

The event, which was held for the third year on Easter Saturday, organised by the community charity North Walsham Play, raised £1589.42, which will go towards improving the play provision in the town.

Matthew Smith, North Walsham Play's founder, thanked everyone who took part.

He said: “The amazing weather is a perfect background for another very successful egg hunt, supported by so many people from within the local community.

“All proceeds from the egg hunt will be put toward our next project – an outside gymnasium to be located on the Memorial Park.”

Mr Smith said he wanted to thank the North Walsham Community Shop, the town's Costa Coffee, Sainsbury's, The Atrium Cinema and Starboard for their donations towards the event.

Barry Hester, a trustee of the charity and town mayor, said he was also delighted with how well the Easter egg hunt went.

Mr Hester said: “The work that North Walsham Play and its committee does continues to amaze me.

“This event just gets better and better and with the beautiful weather and massive support of the community make this one something I shall never forget.”
