An iPad Pro has been handed to police after it was found on the side of a road.

North Norfolk Police said the Apple tablet, which costs between £769 and £1,319, depending on its memory and screen size, was found on Northfield Road, Mundesley.

The police have appealed for anyone who may have lost their iPad to get in touch - but they will have to be able to prove it is theirs.

A spokesman said on Twitter: "It's still in the original box and looks like new.

"If you have lost your iPad and you believe it's yours please contact PC Victoria Sweetland at North Walsham Police Station by calling 101.

"You will be asked further details, be able to describe the screen saver and unlock the device to confirm that it is yours."

UPDATE: Police said after 1pm on Thursday (January 2) the owner had been identified, and arrangements had been made to return the iPad.

*Note: This story earlier said the iPad had been found in Northfield Road, North Walsham, but it was in fact found in Northfield Road, Mundesley.
