Police are urging householders in North Walsham to be vigilant of rogue traders following a bogus caller in the town.On Thursday August 11, between 3pm and 4pm, a man called at properties in Ellinor Road area offering to treat driveways with a protective surface to prevent weeds growing.
Police are urging householders in North Walsham to be vigilant of rogue traders following a bogus caller in the town.
On Thursday August 11, between 3pm and 4pm, a man called at properties in Ellinor Road area offering to treat driveways with a protective surface to prevent weeds growing.
Sgt Stephen Hughes, of North Walsham safer neighbourhood team, said: 'We would urge residents to remain vigilant to cold callers and to be wary of anyone who calls unannounced and cannot provide credible identity documents.
Norfolk County Council's trading standards team advises people never to agree to have work done by, or buy goods from, someone who calls unannounced at their door or approaches them on the street.
Householders can also put 'No cold calling' stickers, available from North Walsham police's public enquiry office, in their windows.
