North Norfolk residents donate £7,089 to childrens’ charity in 2017

Children in need of critical support this Christmas have been given a timely festive gift thanks to the generosity of north Norfolk residents.
The North Norfolk Methodist branch for the Action For Children support group has announced that this year (between September 2016 and September 2017) they have raised more than £7,000.
Two street collections lead by chairman David Starling raised £183 in Sheringham and £55 in West Runton.
Mr Starling said: “North Norfolk Circuit supports Action for Children every year. Ever since I met my wife Rita who was who a Sister at the National Children’s Home I have continued to support the work of the charity.”
As well as collections, toys were donated including knitted teddy bears, crafts, books and even a toy kitchen.
The gifts were delivered to Attleborough Children’s Centre, however due to the large quantity are going to be distributed throughout Children Centres in Norfolk .
Holly Canham, community fundraiser for AFC said: “Action for Children would like to thank the hard work and dedication that David and the support group provide every year. These gifts have been donated to our Children Centres in Norfolk where we provide an essential role in giving local children and families the early support they need.”
