The photographs were declared category winners in a North Norfolk Photographic Society contest on January 17, judged by Andy Wilson from Bungay.

The winner of a novice section for work-themed photos was Jackie Ormandy, whose image showed a cross-section of an engine. Second place went to Val Dawson for her photo 'Stone Mason' and third went to Barrie Price for his image 'Anchor Maintenance', which captured a busy gang on Cromer beach, at work on an anchor.

Mr Price also won a novice category for monochrome shots with 'Secret Meeting', showing two people in earnest conversation inside a richly decorated church. Second place in this category went to Susie Kemp's 'Low Tide on the Wash' picturing a horse and rider in silhouette against the sun glinting on the beach and sea, and third place was taken by Heather Green for her 'No Takers on a Cold Day', which showed two unoccupied benches in a setting that might be Cromer cliff-top.

For advanced members, Grace Glaister and Tony Hallsworth won joint first place in the 'work' section. Ms Glaister's image showed an office worker, taken through a window from outside, while Mr Hallsworth's 'Happy Hour' depicted two men with a chainsaw.
