A North Norfolk district councillor has resigned due to health reasons.

Glyn Williams, who represented the Worstead ward for the Conservatives, has stepped down from his post with effect from December 22.

Mr Williams, who was first elected in May 2011, said he felt his health issues have left him unable to commit the necessary amount of time to his councillor responsibilities.

The Worstead ward includes Felmingham, Skeyton, Suffield, Swanton Abbott, Westwick and Worstead parishes.

A by-election will be called as soon as practicable in the New Year.
