Bin collections across north Norfolk have been suspended until next week because of the adverse weather conditions.

The council said that although the worst of the snowfall has probably passed, snow drifts had made many roads impassable, and the conditions and sub-zero temperatures were not safe for the collection crews.

Collections are expected to restart on Monday, with priority given to dealing with black bins.

Households due to have their recycling collected next week will have any remaining black bins dealt with first.

These properties should leave any unemptied black bins out for Monday morning, and the crews will deal with them as soon as they can. People who receive these late collections can leave ‘a reasonable amount’ of bagged-up, excess rubbish next to their bins.

Recycling bins due for collection next week should be left out from Thursday morning.
