A multi-disciplinary construction consultancy has helped to develop and construct a new activity centre with one of Britain’s tallest climbing towers for a Norfolk school.

Daniel Connal Partnership, which has an office in Norwich, has overseen the construction of the activity centre for Gresham’s School in Holt.

The centre includes high ropes, low ropes and assault courses together with a mess room and bunkhouse, with the centrepiece being the 25m-high Bourdillon Tower.

Named after Old Greshamian mountaineer, Tom Bourdillon, the climbing tower provides access to the high ropes and a 200-metre zip wire.

Headmaster Douglas Robb said: “This is a fantastic facility and a welcome addition to the school which enables us to offer more for our pupils and visitors to the school alike. All our staff and pupils are really looking forward to making the most of it and we cannot wait to see it in full use.”
