Nicola Fleming was 21 stone when she realised she needed to turn her health around, having miscarried her first child.

Miss Fleming had taken high blood pressure medication for over ten years, taking tablets three times a day in a bid to control it.

In July 2013, Miss Fleming, who owns Mr Schnorby's Pet Supplies in Cromer, decided to join a Weight Watchers program.

Miss Fleming, 43, said: 'During my journey I suffered several more miscarriages and found out this was due to something called Factor 5 lydon, which is thrombophilia where the blood clots internally. This means I'm at a higher risk of deep vein thrombosis. I realised I really did need to loose the additional weight to assist my health.'

Miss Fleming also incorporated fundraising into her weight loss plan, and walked 105 miles across Norfolk in September 2015 for Diabetes UK.

Miss Fleming added: 'My weight continued to slowly and healthily drop. After the walk in I was told by the doctor because of my weight loss, my blood pressure had dropped down and I was no longer suffering from high blood pressure.

'I'd managed to turn my health around completely and no longer needed medication. Six months later I received my 100lb lost certificate.'

Throughout her journey, Miss Fleming was always supported by her mum Christine, who also joined Weight Watchers to support her daughter.

Miss Fleming said: 'Mum joined with me when I realised I needed some help and couldn't do it on my own.

'Mum had taken high blood pressure medication for over 20 years. She had originally joined simply to help me as she knew how much I needed it, but she has now lost over 30 pounds on the plan, and found out in August 2017 her blood pressure had dropped back down to normal.

'She too has reversed this health issue and no longer needs medication at all.'

The pair decided that their journey could inspire others to do the same.

Miss Fleming said: 'I wanted to give others what Weight Watchers and my coach had given me. A healthy, realistic lifestyle. I have now been a coach for 18 months and love it!'

Christine joined the group as clerk whilst Nicola was in the process of recruiting members.

The pair now run five sessions:

• In Aylsham at the Jubilee centre on a Monday at 18:30

• In Cromer at the Cottage on a Tuesday night at 17:30 and a Thursday morning at 09:30

• In Mundesley at the Royal on a Wednesday at 18:30

• And in Horsham St Faith at the Horsham St Faith centre on a Friday at 19:00.
