The master of a ship carrying petroleum fuel off the coast at Cromer had to be rescued after suffering a suspected stroke.

The master of a ship carrying petroleum fuel off the coast at Cromer had to be rescued after suffering a suspected stroke.

Yarmouth coastguard were alerted to the incident aboard an LPG (liquid petroleum gas) carrier ship 60 miles north east of Cromer, just after midday today .

A rescue helicopter was dispatched for the man and he was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.

It is not known how serious his condition is.
