The funeral of a former North Norfolk District Council (NNDC) chief who oversaw the reconstruction of Cromer’s iconic pier will be held later this month.

Terry Nolan, who had a 40-year career in local government, died aged 84 on Wednesday, January 16, after a short battle with cancer.

His two sons, Wayne and Julian Nolan, described him as a “dedicated family man who was committed to the local community [and] a kind, supportive and loving father and husband.

“He was a man of principle and integrity, and had a strong sense of humour.”

Mr Nolan’s funeral will be held on Monday, February 18, at Cromer Parish Church (St Peter and St Paul), at 11am.

A private committal will take place at the graveside immediately following the church service.

Family flowers only, but donations to Sheringham Little Theatre and the Cromer Cricket Club can be made care of Fox’s Funeral Directors, in Cromer.
