A former landscape designer will throw open his garden gates to raise money to benefit people receiving care from the region's mental health trust.

Nigel Boldero will open an acre of land at the Old School in School Road, Haveringland, near Cawston, from 1pm to 5pm, on Sunday, June 23.

People will be able to explore the different sections of the garden, which includes a formal courtyard, a woodland area, wildlife pond and terraced space.

All of the proceeds raised will be split between improvements at St Peter's, the village church, and Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust's (NSFT) ongoing Healing Gardens project, which aims to create safe, calming and attractive outdoor environments for users, carers and staff. Work at the first healing garden, at the Thurne Assessment Ward at Hellesdon Hospital, is already complete.

Mr Boldero said: "I really believe that being in touch with nature can make a big difference to health and wellbeing."
