Two successful high schools in North Norfolk will have new heads taking the reins in September.

Broadland High School in Hoveton and Aylsham High School will be welcoming Carol Dallas and Duncan Spalding as their respective head-teachers.

Mr Spalding is arriving fresh from his role as principal of a business academy at Bexley in Kent and is taking over from Paul Mitchell, who is retiring after six years.

It is not his first stint at Aylsham High, as he was head of modern languages until 2002.

He said he is excited about leading the school into the next stage of its development and it is one of the highest performing schools in Norfolk.

Ms Dallas replaces Don Cameron at the specialist maths and computing school as he is giving up due to increasing family pressures.

Coming from the City of Norwich School, where she is the deputy head, she has much of experience in developing the curriculum and dealing with staff, parents and students.

She said it was an exciting time and she was looking forward to taking up the post.
