One of the latest confirmed additions for the event, which takes place from August 1st to August 8th, is the Ancient Armouries Longbow Experience, where people can try their hand at shooting in a safety range with targets, mediaeval tents, flags, shields. There will also be a display of English and French arms and armour.

People are also being encouraged to take part in carnival 'bikini' dip, men included, dressed in bikinis to take a swim in the sea.

The selection for the Sheringham carnival queen is taking place on Tuesday, May 4 at The Crown in Sheringham at 7.30pm.

Entrants must live within three miles of St Peter's Church, Sheringham and be 16-years-old by May 1.

The queen and her attendants must also be available for carnival duties from July 30th to August 8th inclusive, and Cromer Carnival Parade on August 18th.

Entry forms are available on the evening or from The Crown Inn in the town and Sheringham Little Theatre.

A mid-summer Ball is also being held on Saturday, June 19 at Pinewoods in Holt Road, Sheringham, as a fundraiser for the carnival.

The evening will include The Herms live band, a disco and a hog roast banquet.
