Businesses and other groups wanting to do their part to help preserve north Norfolk's beautiful beaches can make use of a council's 50 new litter pickers.

The new equipment means North Norfolk District Council now has around 80 litter pickers and hoops to loan to anyone wanting to run a clean-up event on a beach anywhere from Holkham in the west to Horsey in the east.

A council spokesman said they already had received enquiries from groups and business about getting involved, and one group which has recently run a beach clean with the equipment was a sales team from King's Lynn-based Mars Wrigley Confectionery.

A #2minutebeachclean scheme was launched in 2017, and this newspaper and its sister publications have this year been running a Big Coast Clean Up campaign.

Anyone wanting to borrow the equipment - which can be collected from the council's Cromer headquarters - should call 01263 513811 or email cleansing@north-norfolk.gov.uk.
