Neighbours are backing revised plans to turn a former newsagent and tearoom into flats and houses after initial objections.
East Runton Newsagent and Tearoom in the High Street closed early last year.
When change of use plans for the site were first lodged with North Norfolk District Council some residents were concerned about the loss of an another retail unit.
But those fears seem to have been allayed and one neighbour said on the council’s planning website: “Having spoken with the owner and discussed my concerns it’s clear they have thought about them in advance and solutions for them - along with many conversations locally towards it fitting in and what is possible. ...I’m happy to change my original objection to support this application in full.”
Runton Parish Council said it would improve the area.
The property was used as a newsagent and tearooms with living accommodation above for nearly two decades.
