RESIDENTS with questions about the play park planned for North Walsham's Acorn Road have been invited to a meeting this afternoon.

Police, town council and North Norfolk District Council representatives will be on The Green at 4pm to discuss the 60,000 project which has to be completed by the end of March to meet funding requirements.

Plans for The Green, which include a tunnel, zip wire, other activity equipment, and a youth shelter, prompted two residents to air their fears in last week's News about a possible increase in anti-social behaviour. A third householder has since written to the paper expressing similar concerns.

Inspector Peter Hornby said the multi-agency meeting had been arranged as part of the process of keeping people informed about the play park.

The project will be built with a 50,000 government Playbuilder grant which had been destined for a skateboard and BMX park at Happy Valley Cromer until nearby chalet owners' fears about anti-social behaviour led to funders pulling out of the town.

The Victory Housing Trust is separately funding the shelter.
