Music fans flock to Fakenham for musical extravaganza

The streets were alive with the sound of music in Fakenham as more people flocked to the town's annual music festival than ever before.

Scores of music lovers were at Market Place on Saturday to enjoy a string of live performers including Fried Pirates, Caroline Gilfillan, Fakenham Ukes and Anto Morra.

Richard Crook, chairman of organisers, Active Fakenham, said: It went really well. Everybody had a good time and we had a very eclectic mix of music ranging from the ukuleles, folk and a group of youngsters from the academy who were playing rock music from the Seventies and Eighties.

"It was probably the biggest turnout we have ever had."

The music festival - run for the third time this year - is the opening event of Fakenham Active Week, which also features a dog show, archery, guided walks, yoga, squash and concludes with the Ride North Norfolk cycle on Sunday, August 25.
