The first £250,000 phase of redevelopment at Mundesley Holiday Village has been completed with former chalets being transformed into luxurious holiday homes for sale.

The holiday park was bought by Timothy Hay from the Richardsons Group in December and its redevelopment as a self-catering

complex is being carried out under the banner of his Dunwich-based company the Beeston Group.

Mr Hay, who started his business nearly 20 years ago, expanding it to include nine holiday parks across the region, said: 'I was delighted to purchase this iconic property last year from the Richardsons Group, who have decided to concentrate on their boating division in Stalham.

'I have now refurbished the first phase of the holiday homes into show homes and am ready to start selling these as either luxurious second homes on the coast, or as an ideal buy to let or pension purchase with prices from about £50,000 to £150,000.'

He said further phases of what would become a multi-million pound investment would include such site improvements as new steps down to the beach.

He said: 'We are entering an exciting period in the economy for Norfolk.

'The roads, such as the A11, have been or are being upgraded, the economy is in a good position, and if we can improve the mobile network and internet speed, Norfolk will go from strength to strength.'

He said investment was continuing across his parks, including the provision of new luxury lodges at The Hollies, in Kessingland.

He said: 'We have invested in free wifi for our customers, better on site facilities, and see that our customers want a few more home from home luxuries when on their holidays.

'Our new menus at the cafe and bistro at our Yaxham Waters park near Dereham and the 12 Lost Churches at Dunwich are experiencing high demand from good quality locally sourced produce at good prices.'

He said key to the success of his business, which now employed nearly 100 people was a combination of location and re-investment.
