Two lifeboats, coastguard teams and police were involved in a three hour sea and shoreline search on the north east Norfolk coast today.
Police said the search followed them being alerted about a vulnerable missing person from another county, who eventually gave himself up at Great Yarmouth police station.
Winterton coastwatch, coastguard tams from Winterton and Happisburgh, and independent inshore lifeboats from Hemsby and Sea Palling were involved in the search from 11am to 2.15pm
A Sea King air sea rescue helicopter from Wattisham in Suffolk was also scrambled but was called off after just three minutes in the air, when the situation resolved itself, said a coastguard spokesman.
