A survivor of meningitis raised £2,640 to help fight the disease.

Jasmine Pearce, 15, put on a series of performances at North Walsham High School called 'A Night at the Musicals' and raised £2640 for Meningitis Research Foundation (MRF).

She said: 'I was diagnosed with pneumococcal meningitis when I was two and this greatly affected me and my family.

'It is a horrible disease that changes lives and destroys families. I was lucky enough to make a full recovery, however many do not.

'I hope that in the future, no one has to suffer from any form of meningitis. That's why I wanted to raise funds for MRF whose vision is a world free from meningitis and septicaemia.'

Gina Weston, from Norwich, is an ambassador for MRF and talked at the performances about her family's tragic story.

Meningitis took the lives of two of her sons, Ryan and Joe.
