The former head of the British Army, Lord Dannatt attended the launch of a new book on Sheringham during the First World War.
Edited by Sheringham museum chairman Tim Groves and town councillor Peter Farley, Sheringham at War – 100 Years On, tells the stories of the men who lost their lives in the conflict.
The book, which has been produced by Briston-based author and designer Martyn Bar, includes a foreword written by Lord Dannatt, and also charts the experiences of those at home.
The new book and accompanying exhibition honouring the sacrifices made by Sheringham residents in the war was launched at the town's seafront museum. The exhibition runs until October 28.
Robert Henry, electoral services officer at North Norfolk District Council, attended the launch. He said: 'I was touched that my great-grandfather, Albert Bayfield, who was killed on April 11, 1917, aged 41, features in the book.'
