Everything from village shops and Facebook to smelly people and Morecambe and Wise is covered in the latest volume by Sheringham-based author Ryan Pugh.

Mr Pugh’s newly-published book, called Semi Professional Writer, is a compilation of observant and funny pieces he has written for his blog over the past six years.

He said: “I try to make my books funny and accessible, easy to drop into. I hesitate to refer to them as ‘toilet books’ but I’m told they do serve a purpose when one has a five-minute interlude.”

Mr Pugh’s previous book, Kismet Quick, was a travelogue where he visited 40 Norfolk towns and villages by public transport. He has also just finished his first novel, Friday I’m In Love, a comedy set in a Norfolk village school in 1992.

Semi-Professional Writer is available online at Amazon, in Jarrold of Norwich or by contacting Mr Pugh directly through his website at ryantpugh.co.uk.
