Sheringham Chamber of Trade has hailed an 'Open all Hours' late night shopping evening a 'huge' success.

Held between 5pm and 8pm on Friday last week, the event was organised by Nina Sexton, who owns Miss Madeleine Giftwear Emporium, in Station Road, and a group of fellow traders.

Simon Prince, who is the manager of the Red Lobster Gallery, also in Station Road, hoped late night shopping would become a regular feature in the town calendar.

'It was definitely worth doing,' he said. 'There was a really nice atmosphere, but also a fantastic camaraderie amongst all the retailers – everyone has pulled together and I think it has strengthened us as a group.'

Town mayor Madeleine Ashcroft said: It was lovely to see the community pulling together to support our shops and I hope the initiative will continue to be enjoyed by our residents and tourists'
