1,000th new affordable home handed over by trust
The keys to the 1,000th affordable home built by north Norfolk’s Victory Housing Trust have been handed over.
It means the social housing landlord has built a new affordable home every four-and-a-half days for the past 12 years.
The property is one of six homes built in Campingfields Lane, Stalham in a £700,000 development which forms part of a wider initiative to build new affordable homes on derelict former garage sites throughout north Norfolk.
Jane Craske, who picked up the keys after facing eviction from her Sheringham home, said: “It is so nice to get my own home and know that it is secure, somewhere I can really call home.
“Everything is new, and it’s a really nice community in Stalham.”
Victory housing director Christine Candlish said: “We remain committed to accelerating our programme of creating new affordable homes to meet the pressing need in our part of the county.”
