A popular Cromer pub looks set to get a makeover with a new outside drinking and dining area and refurbished toilets.

Plans have been lodged for an internal and external revamp of the King's Head in the High Street.

The pub is owned by Punch Taverns and documents submitted with the application state that "it's in a great town centre location with great potential which is not being fulfilled.

"The existing covered area is to be removed, and a new brick built flat roof extension with timber framed windows and timber door and new timber framed pergola with fixed seating to create an external drinking/dining area.

"The King's Head is of special architectural interest. All the listed features are to be retained. The areas for intended development externally will not affect any of the listed features to the front elevation."

The building is about 200-years-old but has undergone previous modern refurbishments.
