A north Norfolk school has received a good Ofsted report.

Kelling Primary in Salthouse Road was visited on December 12 last year. It was the first short inspection carried out since the school was judged to be good in June 2014.

The report states that the school continues to be good.

Mary Dolan, executive headteacher, said she was delighted with the results of the latest inspection.

She said: 'We are very pleased with the report, which recognises the strength of the school. It's a testament to our motto, which is 'We all play our part to achieve excellence in everything', and it's a testament to our children, parents, community, staff and governors.'

Ofsted's report said: 'The leadership team has maintained the good quality of education since the previous inspection. Parents I spoke to explained how happy, safe and well cared for their children are. Pupils, parents and staff are overwhelmingly positive about the standards of pupils' behaviour.'

The next steps for the school are to make sure that further improvements are made to pupils' spelling, punctuation and grammar, and that teachers have the skills in maths to move pupils onto higher standards of work.

The school had 53 pupils on roll in September 2017 and is part of the Pilgrim Federation.
