In a survey of both national and local recruitment websites, Norfolk's recruitment agencies have given a thumbs up to the local jobsite, Jobs24, which is produced by Archant, publishers of weekly newspapers, including the North Norfolk News, and the EDP and Evening News.

'The purpose of the survey was to make sure local recruitment agencies were getting real value from the site' explained Isobel Robson, Archant Norfolk's classified manager.

The survey looked at the importance of local job sites, and how people ranked Jobs24 when compared to some of the national sites. The self completion survey was sent to 56 local recruitment agencies in Norfolk

'When asked to name the top four websites which were important to them, more recruitment agencies cited Jobs24 than Monster, Total Jobs, Jobcentre plus, Fish4 and Reed. Also, 66pc of respondents said that Jobs24 was a good website with the majority saying it was good value for money too.' said Isobel.

The survey also looked at some of the new services which might be of interest to recruitment agencies.

'The strong message which came out of the survey was the importance of finding an electronic method of matching vacancies to local CV's.

'We do have a very good local CV service, and since people trust us and our websites and newspapers we are good at getting live CV's. What some local recruitment agencies have found is that national CV sites are not good at giving local, relevant CV's, so this is something we will want to develop for them' explained Isobel.

All companies who completed a questionnaire were put into a draw for a 500 voucher for their company to use on Jobs24, or one of Archant Norfolk's titles.

The winner of the draw was The Hales group
