A north Norfolk village pub is hosting a series of festive events in aid of two good causes.

The Hunworth Bell, near Holt, which is listed as one of Norfolk's best pubs in the AA's Pub Guide, will be kicking off its Christmas programme with Carols by the Bell, on December 16.

Feauturing a raffle with prizes donated by the pub's suppliers and mulled wine with homemade mince pies, the event will see popular performer Gary Winter and friends play festive jazz and carols.

Also on the programme is a Christmas quiz on December 19, with proceeds from both events divided equally between cancer charity the Big C and Hunworth church.

Hunworth Bell manager Sarah Handley said: "We are so looking forward to our series of festive events, our Carols by the Bell in particular is a wonderful way to enjoy some of the Hunworth Bell's legendary hospitality, whilst also raising funds for two important local causes."
