Hundreds of real ale fans turned out to the North Norfolk Railway at the weekend, to sample a selection of more than 120 brews on offer at the popular attraction’s annual beer festival.
With two bars serving up drinks with names ranging from Tiffin Gold and Atlantic Hop, to Granny Wouldn’t Like it and Off Ya Rocker, the three-day event promised to provide something for all tastes, with a packed Sheringham station also treating festival-goers to a hot food and live music.
North Norfolk Railway managing director Hugh Harkett said: “It’s as full as I have seen it and, although I am no beer aficionado, I think people enjoy the choice on offer and the fantastic atmosphere of the railway.”
Off duty North Norfolk Railway volunteer Jim Gallagher, who attended the festival with his wife Mary Anne, said: “It’s the first time we have been and think it’s a brilliant event in a lovely setting.”
