A long-running bid to build a new car park on land off Thornage Road has been hit by further delays.Planning officers at North Norfolk District Council now expect an application for the 400-space facility, five minutes from the town centre, to go back before the planning committee for a third time later this year.
A long-running bid to build a new car park on land off Thornage Road has been hit by further delays.
Planning officers at North Norfolk District Council now expect an application for the 400-space facility, five minutes from the town centre, to go back before the planning committee for a third time later this year.
Though the plans were given delegated approval by councillors for a second time back in January, the application had to be re-advertised in June as part of the approval process.
Now, after various representations by concerned locals, Norfolk County Council's highways department and the Environment Agency, developer Graham Chapman has been asked to provide more information on a number of issues including soil extraction, sewerage and traffic levels.
The car park application was first submitted in 2005.
